0 STRONG SHOWING AT SXSW

The world premiere of feature documentary The People vs. George Lucas went with a bang at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.  Director Alexandre O. Philippe was of course there, along with our fellow producers Kerry Roy, Vanessa Philippe and Robert Muratore who also shot the film.

The audience response was phenomenal at all of our screenings – which went up from the planned 3 to 4 across the week because of the lines that went around the block of the Alamo South Lamar cinema.

The lines form early for our world premiere

The first screening was then followed by an action-packed party at The Highball complete with Stormtrooper DJ, dancing Princess Leias and a crowd enjoying the lightsabre giveaway and laser show.

Then it was on to our biggest show of the week at The Paramount theatre, a beautiful old cinema with a great atmosphere that was our third packed house of the week.  A great feeling for the team that have worked so hard on this film for the last 3 years.

The rest of the week was filled with interviews, meetings and events at the incredibly lively festival, with lots of great coverage for the film.  You can see my longer blog on the week at Filmmaker Magazine.
